They’ve recently released a new album, Echo:One, that’s currently available digitally, with physical copies shipping out on September 17. If you’re unfamiliar with sludge, it probably sounds exactly like what you’d imagine from the genre’s name. And maybe the idea of a long trudge through the sludge doesn’t sound appealing at first, remember that this is stoner metal designed to be consumed when lightly toasted. The big, long songs are given a funky edge from a band with just two basses and a drummer, finding really bizarre and creative noises to tickle the senses. And it’s hard to overlook the monumentally epic 27-minute long track, appropriately called “Ghost Whale,” which combines their funky bass tricks with sound effects, samples, and a saxophone. So maybe grab whatever herbal refreshments you can legally obtain in your area and check out this truly unique album.

Ca commence comme un compteur Geiger en surchauff e monté sur un hybride de Huey et de U-boot pris dans la tourmente d'un orage magnétique et qui ne saurait donc plus s'orienter efficacement, à la limite du point de rupture. Autant dire que les choses paraissent mal engagées. Pas de quoi aff oler Ghost:Whale qui a du répondant dès que tout paraît se dégrader. A se demander même si le groupe Bruxellois ne serait pas capable de provoquer le chaos pour mieux s'en accommoder. Il faut dire qu'ils ont de quoi assurer un beau pandémonium avec une formation commando digne d'une division de panzers, deux basses et une batterie, ça ne se voit pas tous les jours.
Si le groupe est tout jeune, créé début 2021, ses trois snipers ont déjà de la bouteille (normal quand on porte le nom d'une chaîne de caves à bière) puisqu'on a pu les entendre, selon leurs fréquentations, chez Frau Blücher and the Drünken Horses (il faut bien qu'il reste quelque chose de Waterloo dans ces mornes plaines), [P.U.T] ou Missiles Of October, autant dire qu'on est loin des niaiseries atones de Stromae ou d'Angèle. Ghost:Whale, c'est une savante mixture à la cheville avec laquelle la vodka-martini de James Bond ne peut rivaliser, même à la cuillère. Entre sludge, doom, metal, noise, indus ou stoner (ce dernier style étant peut-être le plus abordable, c'est dire), Ghost:Whale pratique l'hypnotisme musical comme Messmer le charlatanisme
mercantile, avec une conviction que quelques kilos de TNT ne
sauraient réduire à néant. Le drone vu par Ghost:Whale a la patience d'une bernique accrochée à son rocher, la force d'un lutteur turc dopé au raki de contrebande, le charisme de Godzilla amoureux fou d'un mégalodon vitrifié par Little Boy, tout en nous entraînant dans des abysses seulement hantés par ces formes fantomatiques rescapées d'âges aussi obscurs que ces grandes profondeurs, là où survivent léviathans et krakens qui ne feraient qu'une bouchée du Nautilus ou du Belgorod. C'est l'impression dominante qui nous envahit à l'écoute de la presque demi-heure de "Ghost:Whale", le morceau, aussi angoissant qu'une voie d'eau par 10 000 mètres de fond malgré, avec ce saxophone (seul invité extérieur au trio sur ce disque) qui se lance dans des expérimentations free jazz qui feraient passer Sun Ra, La Monte Young ou Albert Ayler pour d'aimables musiciens de fanfare villageoise. L'autre demi-heure de "Echo:one" se partage entre quatre morceaux, c'est dire si le plus court d'entre eux est digne d'un opéra de Wagner pour un sectateur sous speed de NOFX, 7 Seconds ou Descendents. Ecouter Ghost:Whale, c'est entrer en transe sans avoir gobé le moindre acide, c'est grimper l'Everest en moins de deux heures sans sherpa et sans assistance respiratoire, c'est se lancer dans un voyage vers la Lune en tongs et en montgolfi ère. Ecouter Ghost:Whale, c'est une expérience qui vous fait ressentir la musique avec l'intensité d'un derviche tourneur, l'introspection d'un anachorète et l'épicurisme d'un acteur porno, tout ensemble pour atteindre à l'extatisme multi-orgasmique, il n'y a pas de petits bénéfices. Attention les amis, voici une bien bonne curiosité que je vous propose là. Une découverte pas piquée des hannetons. Curiosité car le groupe n’a pas de guitare, mais deux basses !!. Amateurs de gros sons gras et lourd, bienvenus ! Pour les autres restez aussi et écoutez cette première sortie pour ce tout nouveau groupe crée en hiver 2021. Cinq titres mais soixante minutes de musique pour le trio composé de Lionel Beyet (basse, samples, également patron du label P.O.G.O Records), Yves Vranckx (basse, samples) et Vincent Desantos (batterie). Membres également des groupes Frau Blücher And The Drunken Horses, [P.U.T] et Missiles Of October, on reconnaît la touche noise rock du trio dans Ghost : Whale même si le nouveau groupe de ces trois-là est bien plus que cela. On peut en effet rajouter du doom, du sludge, du stoner avec des touches d’indus ajoutées par les samples. Il est aussi intéressant de noter avant de rentrer un peu plus en détail dans cet album qu’il a été enregistré en condition live et quasi en one shot.
Uniquement cinq morceaux pour ce premier disque mais ne vous y trompez pas, il s’agit bien d’un album bien rempli d’une heure de musique.
Le premier titre capte notre intention avec d’abord un sample faisant penser à une alarme, répété assez souvent, la montée en tension se fait également par une structure de morceau qui va crescendo. Les deux basses apportant vraiment un côté lourd, sombre et gras comme rarement entendu. Ce côté lourd et gras atteint son summum sur le bien nommé Elephant Walk, Ghost : Whale se faisant pachydermique, très lent et très glauque sur ce morceau. Comme si le doom avait creusé plusieurs mètres sous terre pour trouver un son encore plus ténébreux. Autre pierre angulaire de cet album, et même la pièce maîtresse, le mur porteur, Ghost Whale et ses vingt-sept minutes au compteur touche un peu à tout. L’excellent saxophone de Bruno Margreth apporte un côté noise rock sombre pendant que les basses flirtent avec le stoner doom, la batterie maintient en haleine avec ses frappes à la fois légères et cuivrées.
Le morceau le plus rapide se trouvant à la fin du disque, c’est en effet OneZeroOne qui est joué sur un rythme plus tranchant, trépident. Les deux basses qui se sont souvent suivies sur les qautre autres titres volent ici de leurs propres ailes, font ce qu’elles veulent et proposent chacune leurs propres riffs. Le tout étant parfaitement audible, on se prend à chercher et à gratter la couche du dessus pour bien écouter ce que chacune propose.
Au travers ces cinq titres très riches, les Belges de Ghost : Whale nous ont conquis par leur formation originale, leur son d’une lourdeur défiant toute concurrence et leur capacité à rendre leur musique au combien intéressante par des idées judicieuses (le saxophone), et un talent d’écriture indéniable.
Déjà en préparation de la suite, Ghost : Whale peut compter sur nous ! On sera là au rdv.

Jeune trio basse/basse/batterie belge (non il n’y a pas d’erreur ici), Ghost:Whale est né fin 2021 sous l’impulsion de membres de Fraü Brücher and the Drunken Horses, Missiles in October et [P.U.T]. Tirant des influences du sludge, du stoner mais aussi de la noise grâce à une utilisation prépondérante de samples, le groupe bruxellois livre sur album une de leurs performances live enregistré au Magasin4 (où il était en résidence en janvier dernier).
« This is not a test, this is an emergency alarm », voilà comment nous accueille Ghost:Whale dès « Fungushima », ouverture anxiogène qui va progressivement installer une ambiance d’apocalypse donnant le ton à ce Echo:One. Faisant répéter les sons d’alarme puis jouant un peu plus tard avec sur fond de riffs grassouillets, le groupe belge nous immerge dans un bunker durant ce qui s’apparente à une attaque nucléaire mais dans un étonnant groove hypnotique.
Le duo de bassistes se montre en effet très à son aise, décuplant l’impact des riffs qu’il déploie. Mais plutôt que rechercher du riff enfumé binaire et répétitif qu’on retrouve chez un bon paquet de groupes estampillés stoner, Ghost:Whale possède un enrobage cinématographique dystopique unique fait de sons distordus et de séquences industrielles et expérimentales (mention à « Ghost Whale » aux vingt-sept minutes (!) où l’on alterne riffs sludge, saxo free jazz et bidouillages sonores irritants).
Si cet album est façonné sur des séquences souvent répétitives, c’est l’ajout de samples (parfois vocaux comme le stressant « vous avez demandé la police, ne quittez pas » sur « OneZeroOne ») qui vient apporter la touche d’angoisse à l’intégralité de cet album où l’inconfort règne en maître. Echo:One est un album peu évident tant son ambiance est oppressante, il demande donc un peu de courage et de persévérance pour s’en imprégner et captiver comme il se doit.

Now here's an interesting project that combines the doom and sludge side into an experimental plot and in a way something near industrial in five long topics that hypnotize us over the course of about an hour. The hypnotic factor that stands out even thanks also to a “jam” spirit that runs through all of these themes, a fluidity of who is playing and letting the music lead the way, without having the slightest (seemingly) concern where it will stop. Being instrumental and experimental, it won't be something everyone will please, but the dragged feel of the stoner/doom/sludge is well-served and as such irresistible for fans of the genre.

Nagyon kedvelem ennek a belga kiadónak a dolgait, ezért egyértelmű volt, hogy megfogom hallgatni ezt a lemezt. Egyébként ez egy bemutatkozó anyag, szóval nem is nagyon volt mihez kötni. A zenekar tagjai: Yves Vranckx- basszusgitár, sampler, Lionel Beyet- basszusgitár, sampler és Vincent Desantos - dobok, a négyes dalban közreműködik szaxofonon Bruno Margreth. Eleve ez a két basszusos felállás is kíváncsivá tett a lemezzel kapcsolatban.
Az biztos, hogy nem rövidke szerzemények vannak rajta. Az első két dal darabonként eleve 8 perc, szóval volt mit "mondani". Egyébként instrumentális az anyag. Az első Fungushima címűben marha jók a hangminták, mert teremt egy kis sötétséget, a basszusok meg dörmögnek és karcolnak ahol kell. Totál stoneres valami, de valahogy van benne valami egyedi íz is. A második The Other Side-ban viszont már jobban dominálnak basszusgitárok, meg a dob. Az egyik basszus a fő alapot hozza a másik, meg nagyjából olyan gitár helyettesítő érdekességeket művel. Disszonáns, kísérletező zajokkal, kavrinyázással. Nekem kicsit beugrott róla az Om, de azért talán kicsit más ez. Főleg talán a basszus hangjáról, meg az ismétlődő részek miatt kapcsoltam az amerikaiakhoz. A közepén van egy érdekes basszushangzás, mintha egy el és lehangolt szitár lenne. Persze nem az! Az utolsó két percébe meg nagyon beletudtam szakadni.
A harmadik Elephant Walk továbbra is 7 perc feletti cucc, ami tényleg döng és lassan halad, mint egy elefánt. Az alapok alatt érdekes hangok vannak, bár nekem elfért volna még néhány durvább is. Aztán ezután jön egy 27 perces tétel a Ghost Whale, ami azért egy elég nagy sötét massza, stoner, experimental, pszichedélia együtt. Marha jó hangokkal, olyan monotonitással, amibe teljesen el lehet veszni. Tök furcsán fog hangzani, de a hossza ellenére nagy litániát nem tudok róla írni, mert egyszerűen úgy jó ahogy van. Amennyiben a lemezen csak ez a szám lenne, már akkor is oké lenne nekem. Néha volt olyan érzésem, mintha élőben lenne felvéve, a basszusok miatt. Tele van nyomva egyébként "beteg hangokkal". Plusz halad, mint valami teve karaván a sivatagban, ahol az alapok döngése, minta a tevékpatája nyomokat hagy a homokban, majd következő rész, be is fújja homokkal azokat. Aztán a samplerek hangja előre pörget a a karaván elé, hogy lássuk újra az egészet egyben. Marha jó, hogy sikerült szaxofont is belecsempészni. Hatalmas nagy elszállás! Amennyiben csak erre az egyre csavarodik rá valaki, már akkor megéri meghallgatni Főleg ha stoner-es, örvénylő, kicsit sludge-os dolgokat szereti az ember.
Az utolsó OneZeroOne egy tempósabb felvétel a maga 9 percével. Igazán jó hangminták vannak benne, de nekem a második felében lévő töredezett, kiszámíthatatlanabb részek jönnek be igazán. Frankó záró szám, bár én nem akartam, hogy az előző 27 percet "kiüsse" belőlem. Egyébként meghallgattam úgyis, hogy csak a 27 perces felvételt, majd máskor a rövidebbeket, amik nem rövidek. Úgy is nagyon bevált. Ajánlatos meghallgatni.

Ghost:Whale, es una banda de Experimental Stoner/Doom Metal Instrumental, procedente de Bruselas. Su fundación tuvo lugar en 2021, mientras que en este año, debutan con su primer trabajo de larga duración, bajo el nombre de “Echo:One”, que vio la luz el 20 de Junio.
El primer corte en sonar es Fungushima, que destaca por su sonoridad tan pesada en la que la palma recae sobretodo en la batería, siendo la que domina a todo el conjunto a su merced. Si algo destaca de esta formación belga, es por carecer de guitarras eléctricas, una situación prácticamente impensable si hablamos de Metal, pero este trío la hace posible. A través de dos bajos, se crea una ambientación oscura a la par que consistente, en la que Ghost:Whale, nos enseñan su personalidad en su máximo esplendor, además, del rumbo que va a tomar todo el plástico. Es una primera toma de contacto bastante interesante. Le sigue The Other Side, donde es el bajo el que nos da la bienvenida, adentrándonos además, dentro de esa atmósfera tan opaca como de lo más penetrante, poco a poco, se incorporan algunos elementos más, que refuerzan a dicha atmósfera, como bien es el caso de la batería, que aporta una faceta más poderosa y contundente no solo a la pista, sino también al trío belga en general. A medida que la canción avanza, apreciaremos como la agrupación, comienza a incluir ese lado más experimental con el que definen a su estilo personal, incluyendo algunos elementos arriesgados a la composición, de este modo, el álbum empieza a enriquecerse un poco más, de hecho, rompen su lado Instrumental, para incluir voces susurradas.
En cambio, en Elephant Walk, los ritmos se agilizan desde el principio, mostrando de este modo, un poco de luz dentro del plástico. Aunque, esta situación dura muy poco, ya que las influencias más puras del Doom Metal, inundan a todas las notas de este tema. Estamos ante un corte, que bebe de manera extraordinaria de las corrientes más primigenias de este subgénero de Metal, aunque la banda, intenta inculcarles lo mejor de su personalidad para dominarlas por completo. Por supuesto, sobresalen esos ritmos tan pausados y una sonoridad pesada a rabiar. De esta manera, podemos apreciar que estamos ante un larga duración muy variado y que Ghost:Whale, es una formación de lo más versátil a la hora de componer sus propias pistas. Llegamos hasta la canción homónima de la banda, Ghost Whale, siendo la más larga del álbum con más de veintisiete minutos de duración. En ella, sacan su lado más creativo, dando lugar a un sinfín de paisajes sonoros que fusionan el Stoner con el Doom Metal de manera salvaje y desenfrenada, gracias en buena parte, a un constante cambio en los ritmos y a un instrumental afilado. Por otra parte, se llega a vislumbrar la “comodidad” y la compenetración de los belgas, donde demuestran que tienen todo calculado al milímetro, apostando además, por otros elementos de lo más llamativos que aportan no solo más interés al tema, sino también una experimentación mayor, que la banda resuelve de manera airosa y brillante, gracias sobretodo, a la ejecución tan pulcra y ordenada que llevan desde el principio, hasta el final del corte. Este es el resultado, de tener las ideas claras y ordenadas, y es que, todo fluye desde el primer instante. Es excelente. Para finalizar, lo hacen a través de OneZeroOne, que se encamina por ese Stoner tan lleno de viveza, en la que la energía se dispara por completo, dando lugar a un dinamismo de lo más impresionante, que se incrementa a lo largo de toda la pista por la introducción de esos elementos tan extravagantes que nos hemos ido encontrando a lo largo de este trabajo.
Sin duda, Ghost:Whale, es una banda de lo más novedosa la cual es mejor que le deis una buena escucha a su primer disco y saquéis vuestras propias conclusiones, ya que su personalidad es digna de admirar, de la misma manera que la pasión que le ponen a sus composiciones tan excéntricas.

Debutto molto molto interessante per questo gruppo di Bruxelles, che annovera due bassi, una batteria e tanti ritagli sonori che rendono il gruppo unico.
I membri del gruppo provengono da esperienze importanti in ensemble come il gruppo punk Frau Blücher and the drunken Horses, il gruppo sludge punk noise Missiles of October e il collettivo industrial [P.U.T.]. Tutti questi retroterra musicali sono presenti in questo debutto intitolato “ Echo:one” prodotto da varie realtà come P.O.G.O. Records, Bitube Records, Bonobo Stomp, Urgence Disk, Tenzemen Records e Forbidden Place Records. L’impasto sonoro del gruppo è un industrial ben costuito e strumentale, vicino a qualcosa del Godflesh e dei Jesu, un incedere continuo ed avvolgente, affascinante ed ipnotico, quasi distopico in certi momenti, con le linee dei due bassi e la batteria che vanno ad incontrarsi con dei campionamenti inseriti benissimo e che diventano loro stessi un altro strumento all’interno del gruppo.
Le tracce sono tutte quante di ampio respiro e sono molto ben composte, con trame sonore che si sviluppano in maniera completa e sono tutte da sentire.
Il debutto di questi belgi è molto incisivo ed è la colonna sonora adatta a questi tempi che stiamo vivendo, con il suo rumore e il suo essere industrial in maniera molto diversa dal solito, con uno spirito punk hardcore e tanto da dire.
Non si può citare un episodio migliore ma per rendere l’idea del gruppo i nove minuti ed oltre di “OnezeroOne “ sono forse i più esplicativi per spiegare come i Ghost:Whale creino uno spazio sonoro unico ed inedito, con tantissimi riferimenti e un a fortissima connotazione.

Das Album atmet langsam, aber es klingt angenehm ungesund: „Echo:One“ ist das Debüt der frisch gegründeten belgischen Stoner-Doom-Band mit dem vergnüglichen Namen Ghost:Whale. Mit der Eigenschubladisierung nimmt es das Brüsseler Trio nicht so genau, das macht die Musik so interessant; mit einem Schlagzeug und zwei Bässen, also ohne Gitarren, ist die Kategorisierung auch nicht so einfach, und viele der Einflüsse auf diesem Album resultieren aus dem, was einige der Musiker mit ihren vorherigen Bands so trieben: Industrial, Punk, Sludge – und Noise. Wer in seinem trocken verfuzzten Gemalme ein Saxophon unterbringt, stößt sowieso auf offene Ohren. Monotonie, Wiederholung, Geräusche – ein Tiefenrausch!
Melodien sollte man auf diesem einstündigen Album nicht erwarten. Die fünf Tracks malmen vor sich hin, stoisch, unbeirrt, ungebremst, und doch variantenreich. Wie Atem, entspannt, aber nicht bei bester Gesundheit, rasselnd, schleppend. Es kommt eben darauf an, wann welcher der Musiker mit dem Musizieren aussetzt oder wo er Breaks und Fills setzt, oder auch: Wo die Band – wie im letzten Track – das Tempo doch mal anzieht, nachdem sie sich ewig im Schlenderschritt bewegte. Nach vorn, das auf jeden Fall, die Bewegung ist schon ausgerichtet, nicht orientierungslos. Und die Musik ist staubtrocken, die Bässe fuzzy verzerrt, tief gestimmt, aber nicht heavy gespielt, und das Schlagzeug auf repetetive Dynamik ausgelegt, gelegentliche rhythmisch eingesetzte Samples sowie auf den Saiteninstrumenten erzeugte flirrende Sounds erweitern das Spektrum. Can trifft milde Swans trifft Leute aus der kalifornischen Wüste, und es erstaunt, was auf diesem vermeintlich minimalistischen Album so alles los ist. Eine verspielte Bande, diese Band.
Daher passt der Doom als Genrebezeichnung auch nicht wirklich ins Bild: Die Musik ist, dem Einsatz zweier Bässe und keiner Gitarre geschuldet, rauh, aber nicht hart. So erinnert es zwar schon an die Genueser Mope, wenn im nach der Brüsseler Band benannten halbstündigen Track plötzlich ein Saxophon ertönt, aber Mope sind wesentlich härter und tatsächlich näher am Doom, am Metal überhaupt. Auch Morphine taugen als Band mit Bassdominanz und Saxophon nur marginal als Vergleich, die haben einen anderen Groove und überhaupt Songstruktur. Hier greift das Saxophon beinahe den Walgesang auf, bevor es zu quieken beginnt, und diese musikalische Analogie zum Bandnamen lässt den Kiffer noch breiter grinsen.
Wobei der Bandname unterschiedliche Interpretationen zulässt. Er könnte – nicht zuletzt dem Cover entsprechend – angelehnt sein an Bake-kujira, einen skelettierten Wal der japanischen Mythologie, der sich nicht fangen lässt und der als Unglücksbote auftritt. Es könnte sich auch um eine Roboter-Figur aus dem Universum von Sonic The Hedgehog handeln, einen riesigen Wal, dessen Herz man viermal zerstören muss und sich auf dem Weg dahin in dessen Inneren von Raketen beschossen sieht, logisch. Der Londoner Craft-Beer-Shop hingegen kommt als Referenz eher weniger in Frage. Womöglich ist es schlichtweg die von Dr. Salvatore Cerchio entdeckte und von ihm so benannte Walart Ghost Whale, die hier Pate stand – schließlich ging diese Entdeckung der Bandgründung nur weniger Monate voraus, und schön spooky ist der Name ja.
Diese Bandgründung fand 2021 mitten in der Pandemie statt. Zur Grundausstattung gehören die beiden Bassisten Lionel Beyet (P.O.G.O.-Labelchef sowie von Industrial-, Noise- und Punk-Bands wie Missiles Of October, [P.U.T], Monsters Eaters und No Hope For All) und Yves Vranckx (von dem Punk’n’Roll-Projekt mit dem an Mel Brooks‘ „Frankenstein Junior“ angelehnten Namen Frau Blücher And The Drünken Horses, wo er konsequenterweise Vränckx heißt) und der Schlagzeuger Vincent Desantos, das Saxophon streut Bruno Nono ein. Das Album kommt übrigens auf diversen Labels in unterschiedlichen physischen Editionen heraus. Und es lohn sich!

Rock has walked through various nuances during its long and rich history. Just as we’ve heard the primary melodies inviting to the dancefloor, it’s evolved in various ways, including variations where the sound is rough, powerful and yields nothing. It is at this point where several musicians base their ideas, creating a strong and hypnotic sensation.
Into this rubble. who have managed to start sounding loud is the trio from Brussels called Ghost:Whale, who have the peculiarity of being only one drum and two bass, relying only on the use of samples and a saxophone in one of their tracks. It's a heavy, tense, low-density soundtrack, no time to waste, it's a front attack, Lionel Beyet (bass, samples), Yves Vranckx (bass, samplers) and Vincent Desantos (drums), are the components of this group, with a sound on Where stoner rock, doom metal, sludge meet and noise.
Originally members of bands such as Frau Blücher And The Drünken Horses, [P.U.T] and Missiles of October, came together to record and at the beginning of the year secretly recorded the tracks belonging to their first recording Echo: One, which is said to be gra bado live and practically in one shot. Evidently, the influences of their members have to do with what they do in their bands, which go on the same sounds.
Five tracks in just over an hour duration is the disc, in which no one expects virtuous experiments or melodic protagonist exercises, here is nothing that, on the contrary, is sound in brute force, low frequency, constant tension, is a record to listen to with headphones and in the dark.
The first track is Fungushima (08:03), with a plate of samplers creating a heavy ambiance, giving in to the monolithic sound of speakers and a raw drumming. They immediately stop feeling with everything, there are no concessions. The Other Side (08:43), is an immediate assault, taking advantage of the sound resources they have at hand in violent changes of everyone and rhythms, a wild crash to the ears. Elephant Walk (07:46), is the "shortest" topic, but it doesn't fail to be powerful, being literally the recreation of the walk of a heavy elephant, creating a sense of danger. Ghost Whale (27:07), is a lengthy odyssey that also hits brutally, nothing fancy, with the entrance of a demented saxophone gracing the space courtesy of Bruno Margeth. Lastly, OneZeroOne, is a track that has a more melodious start, but it slowly takes direction where the band wants, a single that also rumbles and creates a tense atmosphere.
The trio doesn't give up on the goal in the way of doing what they want and how they want, immediately showing the cards on the table, so those who enjoy the sounds already mentioned, this record is going to hit you. The album has been edited both digital and physical formats

Erfrischender weise verstehen es GHOST:WHALE, schöne Melodielinien in ihre überwiegend im unteren Tempobereich angesiedelte Musik einzubinden. Und so sind auch die Tracks überaus gelungen und glänzen mit durchdachten Arrangements und viel Abwechslung. Die Instrumentalabteilung agiert dabei bodenständig und fehlerfrei und die Spielfreude ist GHOST:WHALE wirklich anzumerken. Das Album wird durch "OneZeroOne" abgeschlossen, welches den Hörer wieder zur Ruhe kommen lässt und auf die darauf folgende Stille vorbereitet. Die Songs sind wirklich abwechslungsreich, passen aber dennoch zueinander und bilden eine Einheit. Es ist schwer, bei so hohem Niveau irgendwo mit dem Lob anzusetzen: Intensive Melodien finden sich auch auf "Echo:One" wie Sand am Meer. Ein Klang, der so kraftvoll und trotzdem detailreich daher kommt, ist nicht einmal bei Profi-Produktionen selbstverständlich. 8/10
