REVIEWS:

(...)Then we have [P.U.T.] band of 3 brothers living in Paris/Brussels mesmerizing with their top notch perfection in expressing what they seek in their songs. Pure emotions, anger and the power to capture your imaginations with their unique blend of doom and industrial influence is mind blowing. The band is around from 1998 and that quiet can make an impression how they might be sounding.
The best part of the split is they sounded so good after being put together, one side is like the rapid spread of explosion and the other seems to make your brain calm and create some energy in you which instantly makes you stronger. I won’t bla more so check out the split by your own risk. I am having fun anyway so dig it, share around and keep smashing.

This is a review of a split album between France's Grunt Grunt and [P.U.T] which was released by Pogo Records and we will start off the review with Grunt Grunt a band that plays a mixture of grindcore and power violence.
Their side of the split starts out with spoken word samples before going into more of a brutal grindcore direction along with a great amount of blast beats and high pitched screams and the music also brings in mid paced parts and death metal growls at times and you can also hear a touch of punk and power violence in the bands musical style and the last track brings in a small amount of keyboards, the production sound s very powerful while the lyrics cover hateful themes.
In my opinion Grunt Grunt are a very great sounding mixture of power violence and grindcore and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "2" and "6'.
Next up is [P.U.T} a band that plays a mixture of sludge and noise.
Their side of the split starts off with some drones and a minute later heavy and melodic guitar riffs are added into the music along with some programmed beats and aggressive vocals that are much closer to industrial metal and the slow heavy riffs bring in element s of sludge and doom and as their side of the split progresses more traces of noise are added into the music and all of the instruments have a very powerful sound to them, the production sounds very powerful while the lyrics cover dark themes.
In my opinion [P.U.T] are a very great sounding mixture of sludge, industrial and noise and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Fear" and "Under Most Darkest Sea".
In conclusion i feel this is a very great sounding split and I would recommend it to all fans of grindcore, sludge and industrial. 8 out of 10.

"Untypical', that was the word I was looking for when I first heard the music on this split album. Pogo Records, the label that has also brought us Missiles Of October and several other artists, now unleashed a very untypical combination of two very untypical bands. The result, available on CD and as a digital download, is surprising, bizarre and out of this world.
Let's start with Grünt Grünt. This epileptic grindcore band recorded six songs for this album. Five of them are short, extreme blasts of sickening grindcore with hyperspeed riffs, blast beats, grunts and screams. The sixth song is a long (well, four minutes is long for a grindcore band), slow and vile track. The sound reminds me of basement recordings and old Scandinavian black metal acts. Brutal and unforgoving, just like we like our grindcore.
P.U.T. on the other hand, is a noisy sludge duo, using drum computers and samplers along with the usual distorted guitars and screaming vocals. But this is fantastic. It reminds me of a gritty, dirty version of Samael. The industrial feel is tremendous, making P.U.T. argueabably the most untypical but most original sludge band in the world, and frankly, one of my favourites as of now. There are four songs on the album, all having an average duration. All of them are highly bombastic tunes, straight from the engine room of hell.
So yes, this is a surprising and unforgiving album that is well worth your attention, at least if you're someone who likes something new once in a while. Good that people are still experimenting with extreme music...

A split release from two veteran European groups working the heavy end of the musical spectrum, the 2015 Grünt Grünt vs [P.U.T] release is relatively short but fairly eclectic and absolutely pulverizing at times. As I didn’t know much of anything about this release nor the bands on it prior to listening, I didn’t really know what to expect going into this album and didn’t necessarily think it would be something that I would particularly enjoy.
The album starts off with a half dozen songs from French trio Grünt Grünt, who play an especially noisy and abrasive brand of grindcore. Typically, I don’t expect a whole lot from bands working this genre since the primary goal seems to be to rumble the listener’s innards with pure violence and grimy sound. Grünt Grünt certainly does that on their chaotic half of the split, which is overloaded with rapid-fire drumming, assault waves of shrieking guitar, and demonic, raspy vocals. The band also seems willing to experiment, delivering some weird sampled dialogue and even what sounds like a Morricone organ solo at one point. Five of the band’s six unnamed tracks run well under a minute in length, providing just a few seconds for a listener to catch his breath before another intense burst of fury erupts from the speakers. Just when one thinks this group is a one-trick pony however, they unleash a slow-burning, four minute doom metal track for their final offering. Aside from mixing up their basic formula, this piece also provides a nice interlude to [P.U.T.]’s half of the album.
Usually labeled as a stoner metal group, [P.U.T.] is a duo made up of brothers Nicolas and Lionel Beyet, who also run the Pogo Records label this split appears on. While the opening tracks here were more hostile and angry, the Beyet brothers seem to be going after thunder and volume on their contributions to the release. “with the evil” kicks things off with a piece that ever so slowly comes together in a churning mass of sinister guitar riffs and gurgling bass. Repetitive, croaking vocals sound out over the dark and moody instrumental parts and things get even more unsettling on subsequent track “Fear.” Over a background of air raid sirens going off, the track has a methodical rhythmic structure driven by chugging guitar over which we get more nearly toneless vocals which sound as if they’re being vomited up from the singer’s bowels. The entirety of the track is downbeat and sludgy to the point of being a bit scary, especially when the instruments drop out, leaving us with only the sound of the singer uttering the song’s title.
The destructive but groove-oriented instrumental “Industrial vs. forest” has an almost sleazy quality to it due to its use of a slithering bassline that somehow sounds almost disgusting. This track reminds me of something Swans might have come up with in their volatile early period, and I really like the use of clanging guitar accents set amidst the pounding rhythm. [P.U.T.]’s section ends with a the album’s lengthiest track, one entitled “Under most darkest sea.” After a dark ambient intro and a stomping section of belching vocals and gloomy, nerve-wracking instrumental parts, the song finally heads into a slick finale that recalls the dark industrial rock of the late ‘90s. With barking vocals, a whirring base of guitar, and a demented disco rhythm straight from the playbook of Nine Inch Nails, it’s easily my favorite track here and a piece that sends this album off with a bang.
I think the best thing about the Grünt Grünt vs [P.U.T] split for me was that I had about no idea what I was getting into when I first listened to it. The album’s not going to revolutionize the music industry and probably won’t wind up on many people’s “best of” list, yet it’s a downright solid little record that is undeserving of being completely forgotten in favor of “higher profile” releases. Those who like their music loud and aggressive could do a lot worse for themselves than to give this a listen; definitely recommended.
